Meditation
A routine meditation practice induces the relaxation response and reduces overall stress. The only thing you need is a time free of distraction - somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes is perfect - and a comfortable place to sit. You might pick a sound (“om”), a word (“peace”), a short prayer, or a simple phrase (“I am calm”). Repeat this sound or word out loud or silently. Even when your instinct is to pull back, give in to the calm. Keep gently focusing on your word or sound. Whenever your mind wanders, simply and gently return your attention to your focus.

The Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the security
